Nurturing Client Relationships via the Art of Case History Reporting & Publication

(CPD Workshop – 9th April 2016)

How do the case histories you take reflect how you engage with your clients?  What do the changes you notice say about your own process as a therapist?  How can you optimize these reports with a view to wider publication?

As CST practitioners we bring our work to the world in unique ways, we meet and engage with our clients in ways that allow us settle into a field of potential.  Documenting or describing what we do and the changes we observe can be challenging. Published case reports are a valuable contribution to an evidence base, and can improve client-therapist dynamics.

This workshop offers:

  • Practical guidance and dialogue about taking case histories from clients
  • How to document what is important for clients
  • How to measure changes in outcomes
  • How to write coherent case reports to share with peers for wider publication
  • Reflections on your own process

The day will take place in the stunning Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh, and is part of an initiative to encourage and inspire case report writing amongst our members.

Facilitators:

Judy Hemmons is a Psychotherapist and Craniosacral Therapist, and has a long standing fascination with the power of the therapeutic relationship. Skilled Case History taking is an integral part of developing the therapeutic relationship, and an important tool in developing an evidence base for the efficacy of Craniosacral Therapy.

Nicola Brough. Nicola has over 10 years of clinic experience of working with CST, and since 2009 has been undertaking research exploring outcomes of CST. She is a member of the CSTA research committee and hopes to share her knowledge gained with those who attend this course.
